The Ministry would like to take this time to wish you a very happy Summer Solstice.

Here at the Ministry we know that having a good time is a valuable reward for our dear citizens and a requisite for a stable and positive mental attitude. We believe that traditional festivals and events lie at the heart of the fabric of every community. So whip up some cream for those strawberries and have a jolly good healthy time. My parents don't have enough money to take me on holiday and I suppose that since neither of them work then every day is like a holiday for them so they don't realise that when school's finished for the summer I want to be like my friends and go away somewhere nice for a change of scene. I've been on the SureHeart Summerscheme every year since I was six. This year I've used some of the money I earned from my SureHeart placement in our local supermarket to put a financial contribution towards my place. There are about fifty of us in my group and we go away to the seaside with our SureHeart advisors. This year we're going to Bridlington in Yorkshire. There is some time for fun but mainly we do other stuff like social role play games and we discuss and evaluate how our parents are doing and whether we think they could do better. Some of it's made me realise how my parents do have a tendency to fail me and let me down but thanks to SureHeart's intervention on my part then I definitely notice an improvement year on year. I don't belong to my parents anymore. I belong to SureHeart. And SureHeart always act in my best interests. I do like to be beside the seaside, don't you?

"The Metropolitan Police has implemented a system to extract mobile phone data from suspects held in custody.

The data includes call history, texts and contacts, and the BBC has learned that it will be retained regardless of whether any charges are brought.

The technology is being used in 16 London boroughs, and could potentially be used by police across the UK.

Campaign group Privacy International described the move as a "possible breach of human rights law"."

OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - Virulent Experience Exhibition - Conway Hall

FoolishPeople are currently inviting submissions from artists working in all mediums to create artworks and installations for our forthcoming exhibition, Virulent Experience, a unique collaboration between Conway Hall and FoolishPeople.

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work to a wide audience in an historic Central London venue throughout August 2012.

Virulent Experience explores the evolution and devolution of ethics, morals and the impact to the mind, imagination and free will of humans via a fictional future version of London on the eve of the 2040 Olympics.

FoolishPeople will transform the historic Conway Hall – a landmark of London’s independent, intellectual, political and cultural life – into The Museum of Virulent Experience, housing the entire banned index of thoughts, emotions and desires in an age where Information Prohibition has begun.

We are looking for artists working in any medium to create a series of works that exist within the narrative and fictional world of the Museum of Virulent Experience.

We will also accept proposals for completed works that fit within the context and are pertinent to the piece.

All artists featured within the Virulent Experience exhibition will be included in the exhibition book published by Weaponized, this further explores the themes and context of the project. Please contact [email protected] to obtain the full artist’s brief.
