“My twin boys Mason and Jason are three and showed early signs of behavioural difficulties. As a single mum I’d have found caring for them and the loneliness of bringing up kids on my own really tough if it hadn’t been for Sure Heart. I used to drink a lot but thanks to the support of Sure Heart I’ve now got a much more self esteem and I know my sons are safe in their hands while I sort myself out. Through the programme I even get help with the drinking too and I got some work experience at the local supermarket. It’s not paid but its a start. Sometimes we spend all day at the Sure Heart centre and they learn about all sorts of stuff that will make them ready for when they go to school but also more moral stuff that I probably couldn’t teach them, about being good citizens. They do all that while I go to my parenting classes with the other mums. I guess the thing is that being a parent is difficult because there isn’t a guidebook but with Sure Heart it really takes the the pressure off, like they do the worrying for you and you don’t have to think so much anymore about if you’re doing the right thing or not. I’m glad Mason and Jason are Sure Heart kids. They’ve got much more discipline now and they fit in with all the other kids and at the end of the day that’s what’s really important, isn’t it?”
Sure Heart for the right start.
