When you pause, stop and attempt to look at a challenge from an honest perspective you often also end up seeing the truth.
What truth did we see?
That there are people of all persuasions and view points, from all walks of life who want you to succeed at creating new forms of cinema, who believe in the numinous power of art and the work that FoolishPeople create. These people are generous, kind and have done everything they can possibly do to enable us to reach our goal.
Together, we did it. FoolishPeople's IndieGoGo campaign for 'Strange Factories' ended yesterday, having successfully reached our goal early last week, finishing on $12,100 raised. The level of engagement from you all helped us spend over two weeks as a featured project on IndieGoGo.
Thank you on behalf of myself and all of the team working on 'Strange Factories'. We are truly appreciative of your support.
We'll not forget the kindness you've demonstrated through your actions and belief in 'Strange Factories'.
The engagement I've had with our supporters, friends and family has once again taught me that actions speak far louder than words. This period has allowed me to re-evaluate how I perceive art and the connection it affords us to others through our work.
This is just the beginning; rehearsals started yesterday in the most special of locations.
Over the coming weeks we will share with you elements of our process through the rehearsal period with stories, articles and essays on film, theatre and ritual along with the continuation of the 'Strange Factories' narrative that will run throughout the making of the film and beyond into its release and presentation next year during the tour of a living film fantastique.
Soon, we will be releasing the next round of entry into the world of 'Strange Factories' via access to our subscription of experiences, detailed and discussed here in Wired's article.
Let's begin the second stage of our journey together.
